Aldi is/will Scam you: Double charging same groceries
This is a profitable scam that seems to happen often to Aldi, Double charging for same groceries so there is no interest to fix it or simplify a refund. Imaging the thousands of people that don't pick this up.
Events:
1 - On presenting the card for $45.66 + $10 cash out, machines response was 'NO ISSUER RESPONSE Z1'
*******Payment actually went through. No indication of such event. Checkout person said try again.
2 - On presenting same card a second time for same amounts $45.66 + $10 machines response was 'DECLINED 05'
3 - On presenting card from another bank for $45.66 (No Cash Out) response was 'Approved'
*******Payment went through again! That's same receipt/transaction.
4 - First payment was only noted when arrived home and checked bank account. I use eftpos, imagine those shoppers that use paywave or paypass that takes 4/5 days to reconcile. Aldi's laughing all the way to the bank.
Store manager says it happens all to often as I have to speak to Aldi on their generic 13 number. So you speak to what sounds like a foreign call centre with the most atrocious American accent. O' we are sorry for your inconvenience but you have to see the store manager we do not have a way of refunding you? What???
I persisted in wanting to talk to a supervisor. O' I will put a request they will contact you in two business days.
This is nothing short of a very profitable scam for Aldi:
Very difficult to speak to someone coherent.
Pass the buck between store and head office.
Very difficult to even begin to get your money back.
I have the proof of the receipt yet the receipt has multiple reference numbers for the same total purchase.
I have the proof of the bank statements. Yet, have you ever tried talking to Aldi.
Any competent business could rectify this in seconds.
This is what should have happened:
Store manager checks transactions on system
Confirms dual payment/discrepancy
Issues refund
Done.........and not, sorry it happens a lot but I can't do anything, you have to contact head office.
In 30 plus years of using cards I've never had this happen yet alone so much push back merry go round in getting my own money back from what is supposed to be a reputable business.
Who needs Nigerian scammers when you can do it legally like Aldi. Eventually those few customers that pick up the multiple charges will tire and give up, those that don't tire, pay them back in a month. The others, their ignorance Aldi's profit.
Note: it was an eftpos transaction so charge back is not possible but bank may be able to raise dispute, but I don't expect to get my money back, atleast not without a great deal of effort and time wastage. These 'accidents' are to profitable for them.

Aldi beef is 'rubbish'
Bought fillet steak and it was as tough as a boot .Thought I would be fare and bought 'marinated beef' and it was 20% fat -- inedible. Complained and was told to take the product /receipt/ original packaging to the store . How do you do that with meat that has been cooked and consumed, the packaging disposed of (responsible)------I like ALDI but would NEVER buy BEEF from them !

Jindalee Beef Eye Filet Steak -not fit for human consumption
Brought the Jindalee Beef Eye Filet Steak. It was so tough, stingy and chewy and then I looked down and there was a massive blood clot that I had just bitten into, it made me dry reach and I can't imagine I will be able to eat steak again with the image of that blood clot. Was the worst steak ever, even Rump steak isn't this bad of quality. I returned the unused portion of meat to my local Aldi store, they were very reluctant to refund even though they have a satisfaction guarantee written on the inside label of the meat which states return the product with proof of purchase for a full refund. On the Aldi website it just states go instore with proof of purchase. Their issue was I brought the meat 10 days ago and only cooked it today, the best before date was 10 September. I don't think you have the right to dishonour your guarantee policy based on the fact that I purchased it 10 days ago and only cooked it today. I showed you the photos of the cooked meat, I had my proof of purchase and the unused portion of meat, along with the meat wrapper. You have just lost his customer permanently!
If you are reading this don't waste your time with Aldi, the lady on the tv commercial was right to abandon Aldi, it has turned into low grade rubbish and not even a one of special can save you now.

No after-sales support
Great prices but won't buy anything electrical again from their Weekly Specials.
After calling 10 times about a failed Solar Shed Light, I am still none the wiser. Every time I get a promise for a call back but it never happens. Cannot be returned either.

Aldi Jindurra Station Eye Fillet = Dog Food!
If I'm being totally honest, Aldi is my favourite shop which makes this so much harder as I'm a huge fan. Last week I purchased an Eye Fillet as it's normally out of my budget & as they were on special for $19.99/kg I figured what the heck, let's have a treat! Well, finally had the chance to cook it last night, after searing it on the Char Grill I transferred it to a pan & finished it off to 60° in the Oven & let it stand for 20 mins while the Veges cooked. To my horror, this was the chewiest piece of Meat I had ever had the misfortune of eating, I was ropeable & wanted to return it but the Wife insisted on giving it to our Dog (who had to Naw on it like Pigs Ears!)

Deals galore
Love ALDI, love visiting ALDI stores to see what deals they have each week.
Great value for money but it would be nice for customers to be rewarded for their shopping, maybe a point rewards card?
Great store - will always come shop here!!
Although staff wise - hard to find help within the store when needed

worst bread i have ever eaten
Tried Pani De Casa bread ,oh i wish i hadnt it was lucky to be half cooked ,smelt of sour vinegar and weighed much heavier then it was supposed to due to poor quality flour not mixed properly and the worst consistancy of a doughy mess i,ve ever seen ,yeast was there seen by giant holes .........Altogether not fit for human consumption and i,d think twice before feeding it my magpies ......

A good option and keeps the other stores competative
Cheaper prices are always good and the products they stock are good quality. You don't have a huge selection of goods but this is a trade off for cheaper prices.

It's Like A Sparsely Stocked Convenience Store.
I've listened to the hype on current affairs programs on TV (I wonder if those so-called 'stories' are actually paid infomercials) and over the past few years I've shopped at Aldi at least 6 times which has convinced me of the following - The range of products is very limited; the service is bad and it has always been almost impossible to find a staff member on the floor (in the isles), many of the products they sell perform below average or taste sub-standard; there are some bargains to be had but overall it's a horrible supermarket experience. Not once have I walked away thinking 'what a great supermarket', I have always thought 'the other major supermarkets are much better than this'.

First grocery haul to Aldi. Will return again
I decided to give Aldi a go, as I usually shop at coles and woolies each week.
My local store is under going renovations so it was a little messy, but understandable why it was like that.
I purchased a variety of items, lean meats, health food, milk, frozen items and crackers
Totalling $144.62 over two separate transactions
The meat was reasonably priced and taste good too.
However I was disappointed with the lack of Australian food on shelves
For example - the chia seeds I purchase from woolies are Australian chia seeds
However the ones from
Aldi are product of Bolivia
I would like to see Aldi stock more Australian seafood, even if this means it’s more expensive

Aldi free installation is a 'rip off' by Service Heroes Contractors
Purchased 2 x Exhaust Fan Heater lights for Bathrooms. Advertised with 'FREE INSTALLATION'. After booking the installation on-line and receiving a confirmation, we were contacted on the day and told that it would be the following day, due to over booking. Someone from Service Heroes would be at our house between 8am and 9.30am. At 10am we contacted the number given and told Tradesman was on his way. He finally arrived at 11.45am. After looking at the job, he advised that a new circuit would be needed and the cost would be $1400 + GST. He needed a deposit and would come back the following week. We recently had a new circuit to the other end of the house for an AC unit and the charge was $250 incl.
The $1400+GST was simply extortion and an example of absolute overcharging. Did not pay the deposit and contacted Aldi Customer Service via email. They do not give a phone number. Explained situation and 2 weeks later received a reply stating that someone would contact us to resolve the matter. 3 weeks later and still nothing, except a request to take a survey regarding our recent purchase & installation from Aldi. Talk about not knowing what their business is doing and absolutely incredible lack of service or caring from their Customer Service/disputes department. We have since returned the units for a credit and even the shop staff were amazed at the charges we were quoted, considering we are within walking distance from our local Aldi Store.
My advice is to be very careful when buying expensive appliances from Aldi. If anything goes wrong, you are really up the creek, without a paddle. Their installation company, 'Service Heroes' is just as bad and I would advise to never use this company due to their excessive charges, and not being able to arrive on time. One day of annual leave wasted, thinking we were having our lights installed.
Very disappointing effort Aldi!

Great value Microwave
Our microwave had broken and we needed a small compact replacement but not too expensive. We purchased the Black 20L 800w microwave today for $49.99. It’s a great product at an excellent price.

Swingline home shredder.
This is a little gem of a machine. It is called a Swingline and for the home it is fantastic. you can feed individual or 60 page pile at a time. it is small and compact and i use it for everything that i want to shred including photos. Within seconds papers are shredded into minute pieces. Highly recommend this one. I am a fan of aldi products thats why i keep buying them. I purchased this for $100 over 12 months ago and have had no problems with it. Aldi does refund if you keep your receipt and it is within the 3 months. i have not had any problems at all.
