This book has a few nuggets of useful advice that came from Chankya's works, primarily the Arthashastra. All of this could be condensed in 2-3 pages of text. The remaining 99% of the 300+ pages of the book is just generic mix of self-help and global examples which makes it a long and arduous read. This makes it a painful read without getting a feeling of learning something new out of each chapter.
I bought this book from Infibeam.com. This book is really awesome book. It contains all information related to corporate management step by step with easy language. Everything is explained in detail with examples. Till now I have completed first 2 parts of this book. I will complete remaining parts very soon.

Amazing book!! I am astounded by facts super strategist Chanakya offered centuries ago and are so relevant in this time and age. Author has used interesting analogies to explain important points from Arthashastra - one of the oldest scriptures on management. You just can't stop turning pages as each chapter has something new to offer and captivates your attention.

The title is misleading. Chankya was famous for his extra extraordinary skills of politics. I believe there is big gap between regular management and politics. Corporate chanakya sounded me the idea of learning and managing office politics, so I had different expectations when I started the book.

Corporate Chanakya is one such book which never seems to end! Even with 316 pages, the books seems excruciating long. The author repeats multiple concepts and statements at various parts of the book. More than 70% of the things are applicable for people of high authority. And the rest 30% is something we already know by virtue of common sense. Ouch! This should go in the self help category in terms of quality. Reminded me of a collection of thought of the days that we had back in school. I didn't take the courtesy of finishing this book. Extremely abstract interpretation of Chanakya's thoughts applied abstractly to abstract management concepts today. I guess I have used abstract ample number of times now.

Chanakya's work is timeless and there is lots to learn. While author tries to map current aspects of corporate ( leadership, management and training ) - it is a good book for a quick re-look at your own strengths and shortcomings.
Started the book with high expectations but then left it mid way. Somehow it does not grip me enough. While the attempt is good Pillai (IMHO) forced some Chanakyaneeti to fit Corporate scenario of today!
