Hi All, I have to generate text file at the target folder. I am using FCC in Receiver File adapter. (referred the link already:http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s. SAP PI is not a single component responsible for the integration of SAP and Non- SAP application, but it is a cluster of components that together make SAP PI functional. This architecture of SAP PI or components is used during design time, configuration time and at run time. I'm reading a flat file using receiver file adapter in PI 7.5, and then converting it to xml using FCC. However, I need to save the file name to an element of the resulting XML after conversion, to later pass that value to a RFC. Requirement is: convert the file format in PI/PO from tab separated text file to pipe separated csv file. Since, this is pass through, please suggest changes needs to be done in receiver only. Because, sender is already sending flat txt file with Tab separated to some other system. So, i need to configure in only receiver channel. Table of Contents; Simple Any File To File Scenario In ID Only Without ESR Objects. Using SAP PI to do file copy only, is too over-kill. However, let get to the basic and try this “Hello World” kind of scenario. For sender BS_A and sender interface SI_DUMMY, send from channel CC_SND_FILE_BS_A. Receiver Determination: For. File to IDOC Scenario in SAP PI 7.31 (AEX- Java Only) April 19, 2015 May 8, 2015 Editor SAP, SAP PI This blog will provide the details steps involved in File to IDOC scenario in SAP PI 7.31 (Process Orchestration JAVA Only Environment).

Description: File Content Conversion is used to convert non-XML file (flat file) to XML file and vice-versa. In this blog, we will see how to convert flat file to XML file when file structure is bit complex. For example, when same columns shows different information in different rows.

Business Case: Let’s take an example with file shown below. The file contains employee details. First row contains Header information of Employee (Employee ID and Name), Second and Third row contains his weekly details (Week No, Working Hours in the Week and Wage for the Week), there can be n number of rows for weekly details and Last row contains Employee Monthly Summary (Total hours worked and Total Wage).

Find below the step-by-step procedure to achieve this scenario:

Development on Integration Repository side.

1.Create Data Type.

Here I have added a filed Key in all the records, we will discuss about this field while configuring Sender File Adapter.

2. Create Message Type.

3) Create Message Interface for Sender and Receiver. In this scenario I am using same Message Type for both Sender and Receiver as we are converting flat file to XML file.

4) Create Message Mapping.

Here we don’t have to map the field ‘Key’.

In SAP PI file to file scenario, we transfer a file from source system to target system. Once the components are built in SAP PI, you can transfer a file in SAP PI system by creating objects in the Enterprise Service Builder.

SAP PI — File to File Scenario Execution

Step 1 − Go to SAP PI Tools Page → Enterprise Service Builder under ESR.

Step 2 − To find the name of component under which objects have to be created, expand the component to find out the software component version.

Step 3 − Select the component → Right click, click New to create an object under this component.

Step 4 − The first object that we create is a namespace. Enter the namespace in the form of URL and click Create button at the bottom.

Step 9 − Enter the name of the element.

Step 10 − Insert sub element to add child employee id and name.

Note − If the structure of your input file and output file is the same, you can use one Data Type and one Message Type only. If the structure is different, you have to create two data types and message types for inbound and outbound. In this example we are using the same structure for both input and output file.
