I'm gonna wait until I 'bump into' someone ...
Who's actually got a working one of these beasties.
Then I'll just steal it!!!
Ok but....
Will I be able to go through 'My Computer' on the ufd and go through my hd to my windows partition and access my files? Can I like install something from the ufd to the hd and run it too?
I had rather formed the opinion that these 'doobries' ...
Were - in essence - supposed to be self-contained.
A bit like running a Virtual Box, only sort of less-virtual if you will.
you run the OS from the flash drive
you don't install it from the Flash drive to the HDD. For that you need Ghost and an bootable image file. Depending upon the size of the image file, you might need a USB CD/DVD drive [and those drivers on the bootable flash drive].
If this is an IDE or SATA drive, BartPE works great for a bootable flash drive with Ghost [again just make sure you have the CD/DVD Rom drivers loaded]to initialize HDDs and install bootable images onto HDDs
Problem
When I try to boot from it, te comp bypassed it and went to the hd (the only other bootable device that was there) So I removed the hd and left teh usb as the only device (along with the cd drive which had no disc in it)I booted the comp and it said 'no bootable devices found' does this mean my ufd is not bootable or did i do something wrong. i followed the instructions.
Some of the

instructions may have been overlooked. The Simple Flash 2.0 usb flash drive has to be prepared before it can be booted from. You will have to create a Primary Partition and make it Active. Format it as FAT32.
HP has a tool to do this.

Yep True Blue has it...
also, the motherboard has to be able to boot to USB. If it doesn't have the capability to boot to USB then your doing a lot of work for nothing.
Spot on ;-)
I really hope that the poster has checked the BIOS. ;-)
