- Abu Dhabi Police have started issuing new permanent vehicle registration cards from December 2017, according to a statement released on Sunday, 10th December 2017
- Now motorists do not need to visit vehicle licensing department’s offices for renewals, since an SMS will alert them of their licence’s expiry
- Motorists in Abu Dhabi can renew their license online or Ministry of Interior’s kiosk once they are notified that the license is about to expire
- The new permanent cards are without an expiry date and insurance details, while the expiry date will only be available on the traffic and licensing system
