Compatible with Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP and 2000
Jan 26, 2012 Windows failed to start.file windows system32 drivers iaStor.sys.status 0x0000359. I have put the latest iastor.sys driver into winpe 64 component using a selection profile and I also added a step in the task sequence to add the driver within pre install phase, but it is still coming up with the message. Instructions for Windows 7 and Windows Vista: Open Programs and Features by clicking the Start button. Click Control Panel on the right side menu. Click Programs. Click Programs and Features. Locate iaStorA.sys-associated program (eg. Reset Windows Password) under the Name column. Click on the Reset Windows Password-associated entry. How to roll-back AHCI driver from iaStorA.sys --> msahci.sys Win7. Ask Question 0. I'm trying to have my HD run in AHCI mode with Intel RST drivers (not just mshahci.sys) after installing windows 7 in IDE mode. As an AHCI controller because I'm forced to boot in IDE mode. So there is no (regular) way for me to change the AHCI driver windows. The iaStor.sys file is stored under C: Windows System32 drivers directory. It’s not a dangerous file or virus if it is located under mentioned folder. On an average the file size is about 872 Kb. Although the IaStor.sys file won’t be visible on Windows Task Manager. Sporadic BSOD Windows 10 evidence pointing to “iaStorA.sys”. Used the Intel Driver Update Utility to attempt to update drivers. Frequent BSODs on Windows 7 Professional after replacing Graphics Card (worked fine for ~2 weeks prior) 3. BSOD: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. Driver Location C-->Windows-->System 32-->drivers. Make a system restore point, just in case Then go to the location find the driver and change the extension to.bup. This will effectively kill it, but it will still be available if needed. Since the BSODs all say Iastor, this should end it.

Overview of IASTOR.SYS
What Is IASTOR.SYS?
IASTOR.SYS is a type of SYS file associated with Dell Precision n Series System Software developed by Dell for the Windows Operating System. The latest known version of IASTOR.SYS is 1.0.0.0, which was produced for Windows. This SYS file carries a popularity rating of 1 stars and a security rating of 'UNKNOWN'.
What Are SYS Files?
Iastor Driver Windows 10
SYS files such as IASTOR.SYS are third-party (eg. Dell) device drivers or critical system files that come as part of the Windows operating system. Most SYS files allow internal PC hardware or attached hardware, such as a printer, to communicate with third-party software programs (eg. web browsers, word processors, Dell Precision n Series System Software) and the operating system (eg. Windows).
Other SYS files are critical system files called 'kernel mode device drivers' which are used to power the Windows operating system. Files such as 'CONFIG.SYS' contain configuration settings and specify what device drivers should be loaded by the operating system. Without driver files such as IASTOR.SYS, you wouldn't be able to do simple tasks such as printing a document.
Why Do I Have SYS Errors?
SYS file errors are typically caused by faulty hardware or corrupt device driver files. Because of the importance of IASTOR.SYS in the functionality of Dell Precision n Series System Software and other Windows functions, any corruption or damage to this file can create critical system errors in the form of a 'blue screen of death' (BSOD). Please see 'Causes of IASTOR.SYS Errors' below for more information.
When Do SYS Errors Occur?
SYS errors, such as those associated with IASTOR.SYS, most often occur during computer startup, program startup, or while trying to use a specific function in your program (eg. printing).
Common IASTOR.SYS Error Messages
The majority of IASTOR.SYS errors that you encounter will be 'blue screen of death' errors (also know as a 'BSOD' or 'STOP error') that occur in Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, and 10:
- 'A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. The problem seems to be caused by the following file: IASTOR.SYS.'
- ':( Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We’re just collecting some info, and then we’ll restart for you. If you would like to know more, you can search online later for this error: IASTOR.SYS.'
- 'STOP 0x0000000A: IRQL_NOT_LESS_EQUAL – IASTOR.SYS'
- 'STOP 0x0000001E: KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED – IASTOR.SYS'
- 'STOP 0×00000050: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA – IASTOR.SYS'
In most cases, you will experience IASTOR.SYS blue screen errors after you’ve installed new hardware or software. These IASTOR.SYS blue screens can appear during program installation, while a IASTOR.SYS-related software program (eg. Dell Precision n Series System Software) is running, while a Dell driver is being loaded, or during Windows startup or shutdown. Keeping track of when and where your STOP error occurs is a critical piece of information in troubleshooting the problem.
